Very neat and informative read. I was reading up on THC metabolism and came across some interesting hypotheses for the sometimes significantly more potent high experienced with edibles. They noted that the because of the first pass through the liver, delta-9-THC gets broken down. One of its metabolites, 11-OH-THC, or 'hydroxy-THC', which is also psychoactive, increases in concentration, and when entering the brain, the ratio of delta-9-THC to 11-OH-THC is essentially 1:1. This is much different from smoking/vaping where the ratio of THC to hydroxy-THC is 10:1. Pharmacokinetics are so wonderfully complex!
